Medical Coding and Transcription
Spring 2025
Medical Coding and Transcription courses introduce students to the International Classification of Diseases, Clinical Modification (ICD-10) and its system of hospital codes for Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) diagnoses and procedures. These courses provide opportunities for students to practice and develop skills in the use of transcription equipment and to gain familiarity with common formats of medical terminology and reports.
Medical Terminology
Spring 2025
Medical Terminology courses students learn how to identify medical terms by analyzing their components. These courses emphasize defining medical prefixes, root words, suffixes and abbreviations. The primary focus is on developing both oral and written skills in the language used to communicate within health care professions.
Foundations of Nursing
Fall 2024
An introduction to human anatomy and physiology beginning at the molecular level. Nutrition essentials are covered. These topics are related to nursing and disease prevention, maintenance, and restoration.
