Grand Opening Scheduled for Effingham Technology Center
Construction continues on future home of CORE Academy
CORE Academy is preparing for the Grand Opening of its future home at the Lake Land College Effingham Technology Center. Lake Land College has set Wed., July 30 as the date to officially welcome the public to Effingham Technology Center. Construction continues on the first floor, which will be the permanent home for CORE Academy. In addition to CORE Academy classrooms and labs, the first floor of ETC will include a maker space, augmented and virtual reality labs, meeting rooms, LLC Student Services and a mini Laker Nest Bookstore.
CORE Academy, a program overseen by the 501(c)3, Effingham Regional Career Foundation, is a leading provider of skills-based and trade-focused education serving central Illinois. With a commitment to excellence in technical education, CORE Academy prepares high school junior and senior students for successful careers through hands-on training, industry partnerships and innovative teaching methods. The academy serves communities within a 50-mile radius of Effingham, Illinois, offering programs aligned with regional workforce needs and economic growth opportunities.
As CORE Academy refines courses and schedules, the program will also welcome adult learners to improve skills for their existing careers, as well as explore a change in careers while developing the skills necessary to find immediate success in a newly chosen field.
